WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

CrossFit is a lifestyle that combines a large variety of different exercise modalities with a sound foundation in nutrition. We do different things every day that will challenge you and push you a little outside of your comfort zone.

CrossFit is more than just a training program, it’s a community of like-minded individuals who get to workout together, laugh, cheer, and make new friends all while achieving their desired health and fitness goals.

IS CROSSFIT TOO HARD FOR ME?

No! Not to worry Every workout can be scaled for the individual to ensure proper technique is used and the correct training stimulus is achieved. As said by CrossFit Creator Greg Glassman, “the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience…The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.”

WILL CROSSFIT GET ME THE RESULTS I’M LOOKING FOR?

Only if you are committed to making a change, stepping outside your comfort zone, learning new skills and becoming a better version of YOU. At CrossFit Override our mission is to inspire young athletes to work hard and follow their dreams, while motivating adults to achieve their fitness goals and improve overall health/well being.

I HEARD CROSSFIT IS DANGEROUS?

We like to use the analogy of driving a car. If we fail to respect the power of the car or rules of the road, then YES driving a car can be dangerous. As long as we have the maturity and correct guidance to progress accordingly based on current life situation and training history then CrossFit can be a very safe approach to fitness.

WHAT IS A WOD?

WOD stands for Workout of the Day. This can pertain to skill work, strength, conditioning or any combination of the three to be performed that day.

WHAT IS "ON-RAMP FUNDAMENTALS"?

Our On-Ramp Fundamentals program is an introductory course to CrossFit, that will expose you to some of the movements we do here, explain the why behind our program, and set you off on the right foot. These five 1-on-1 sessions with a coach will help with everything you need to know to get started.

WHO HAS TO DO ON-RAMP FUNDAMENTALS?

Anyone who is looking to join our CrossFit class has to take our One-On-One Fundamentals. Our job is to set you up for success. That means keeping you safe while pushing you to be the best version of yourself. The best place to learn new skills and hone your abilities is in a one-on-one setting.

WHAT IF I’VE DONE CROSSFIT BEFORE?

Awesome, welcome to your new home! If you have done CrossFit for over 6 months we’d love to get you into the groups as soon as possible. You can do a Test-out session with one of our coaches as a formal welcome to the gym.
